Set between Chapter 7 and the Epilogue. Because Dr. Prower having a "Duh" moment amuses me.

“Hey, Tails? You need to see this,” Knuckles said, looking at the TV. The fox’s young daughter sat on the floor in front of him, making Play-Doh cookies on the coffee table.
Dr. Prower pulled up his goggles as he entered the room. “What? What’s up?”
The echidna gestured to the TV. “Take a look at Queen Elise’s new baby.”
The engineer lean forward behind the couch, lazily supporting himself with his elbows. “It’s a… blue hedgehog? Guess we know Elise’s type.”
Knuckles put a hand on his muzzle. “Tails. It’s Elise. With a blue hedgehog baby. About nine months past the last time we saw Sonic. Think about it.”
“What do you—“ the fox began. “Oh. OH! Wait, so then…”
“Uncle Sonic’s in Soleanna, of course!” the little girl piped in. “Silly daddy!”
“Maybe, maybe not,” Dr. Prower said with a frown. “That just means he was there nine months ago.” He straightened himself and brought his fist down into his open palm. “But at least this means I was on the right trail before!”
Knuckles turned to face the fox. “So you think we can find him now?” he asked hopefully.
Dr. Prower nodded. “Yeah, but not on our own. I think it’s time to call an old pro…”
